Community Returns On March 15th

Community creator Dan Harmon tweeted today that the show is coming back to its Thursday 8PM time slot beginning March 15.

NBC also made the confirmation.  'We are happy to have an unprecedented amount of original content on NBC this spring,' said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC Entertainment.  He went on to say that new comedies Bent, Best Friends Forever and Betty White’s Off Their Rockers are 'welcome additions to the Wednesday schedule, and we know that the loyal fans of Community will be pleased with its return to its home on Thursdays at 8PM.'

By bringing Community back, 30 Rock moves to 8:30PM and Parks And Recreation will go on hiatus until April 19 where that show will then take over Up All Night's 9:30PM slot.

Hopefully the positive momentum (especially the continued critical praise) that Community was riding the weeks before it was benched will continue to build even stronger with this new announcement.  If anyone has been following the NBC Thursday night ratings since Community was taken off the air, they will see that putting 30 Rock in its place didn't really help NBC at all.  CBS shows continued to dominate Thursday nights.  In fact, just last week all the NBC Thursday night comedies hit series lows in ratings even though they all aired new episodes.

With Community returning to finish out its season, lets hope this means that the show will still be in the running for a 4th season Fall renewal.  Keep your fingers crossed!
