Community Flash Mob Planned For Los Angeles

With the East Coast Community 'flash mob' behind them, a similarly-planned event will happen for the West Coast at NBC:

Community Wins Five TV.com Polls

 

Over at TV.com (a CBS Interactive Inc. website), several reader polls went up before the end of 2011 including ones for 'Best Comedy Series' and 'Best Overall Series of 2011.'

Community won for five categories:

• John Goodman as Vice Dean Laybourne won for 'Most Exciting Cast Addition'
• In the polls that singled out individual performances, Donald Glover won 'Best Comedic Actor' with 45%
• In the 'Most Underrated Show' poll, Community won the category with 57% of the vote
• In the 'Best Comedy' poll, the show beat out its closest competitors, The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family, with 46% of the vote
• In the 'Best Overall Series of 2011' poll, Community won with 27%

Congratulations to Community and its fans for the strong results!

NBC: Community Not Canceled...For Now

At the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena last week, NBC entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt assured reporters that Community 'has not been cancelled' and that 'it will definitely be back later this spring.'  'When I announced our mid-season changes last fall and took Community off the schedule, I failed to explicitly say that it would be back,' he said. 'I want to dispel any notion that it is just disappearing off the schedule.'

Unfortunately for now, when exactly Community actually returns to TV is still unknown and has yet to be determined.  While this news is great for the continuation/completion of the show's third season, Community's chances for a fourth season renewal are still up in the air.

Zap2it Index Upgrades Likelihood Of Renewal

Zap2it - a website and affiliate network that provides news, photos and video, local TV listings, and movie show times - keeps a continually updated 'Cancel/Renew Index' for currently running television shows.  After taking in the various factors of improved ratings from the November 2011 to early-December 2011 time frame and a possible push to get more episodes produced to make the show more viable for syndication, Community has been upgraded to their 'more likely to be renewed than canceled by May 2012' guesstimate.

The site had previously put Community on the toss up list where it was teetering between possible renewal or cancellation by May 2012.  Getting the upgrade is a good sign.

However, as detailed as this index is in terms of how it is researched and analyzed, there is no guarantee that it will correctly predict the final decision by NBC when that make-or-break time finally comes.

Let's all hope Zap2it is correct with this one!

Fans Carol At NBC To Support Show

A few days before Christmas 2011 a group of Community fans organized a quick little sing-along at NBC in New York to support the show.

And what better way to make their voices heard than to sing 'Oh Christmas Troy' together.  Some even had on their evil goatees!
