So as some of you may have guessed, the 'Greendalia' in my blog is a reference to - what is in my opinion - the greatest comedy program currently on television: Community. If you haven't heard of the show, here are some links:

The show's pilot premiered to almost 8-million NBC viewers back in the Fall of 2009. However, it's viewership has dropped steadily since that time and now hovers around the 3.5- to 3.9-million mark. But don't let the numbers fool you. While those kinds of ratings can be considered low to television networks like CBS, ABC, and even FOX, they actually aren't that bad for continually-struggling NBC. Community is also quite critically acclaimed and has a hardcore fanbase.
Unfortunately, with their need to try new things for better overall ratings, NBC has decided to remove Community from their mid-season 2011-2012 schedule. Although not canceled, NBC said that the remaining episodes in the current 3rd season will air, but they haven't confirmed when. I'm guessing we'll see the rest of season three come March / April / May of 2012. But even if/when these episodes air, this sign of no-confidence will most likely lessen the chances of Community being picked up for a 4th season in Fall 2012.
So like any dedicated group when their show is in trouble, a support system is building. If you enjoy the show and want to add to the 'save Community' voice, you can do your part at any of the following:

Send written letters to NBC programming chief Bob Greenblatt (at NBC Universal, 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608), write comments to NBC on their website, watch the episodes live on TV if you can, use your DVR, and watch online through NBC.com or Hulu.com. If you know people with Nielsen viewer tracking boxes, tell them to watch the show. Do anything possible to allow your efforts and viewings to be tracked. Google to find out more of what you can do.
Community is too awesome to just have it fade away. Do what you can, keep it relevant, and remember to watch it when it returns!
